About ME

Hi! I am Amelia, founder, head stylist and planner at Lavish Events.

Five years ago, I was an eager bride-to-be, however had know idea where to look or what to do! I had never been involved in a wedding, nor did I have any close friends or family go through the process.

As most of us do, I bought every magazine, googled till the cows came home and asked everyone a million and one questions. What I found was an awful lot of information, and even less clarity of what I should do. I started by researching each supplier I needed, one by one, and looked at ways we could creatively save money.

As a Market Researcher, I have learnt how to negotiate, research thoroughly and assess multiple scenarios. Now having worked as an event planner and stylist for three years, I am well versed in the process, having completed many different events - weddings, engagements, christenings and bridal showers (even a bucks!), and loving helping clients make their vision come to life. I can't wait to help you make your dream event come true!

As a market researcher by day, I love to understand people (and their briefs). I've spent countless hours researching and working with suppliers, with the one mission of creating an affordable, yet LAVISH event.

The average wedding in Australia costs $38,500 and most couples blow their budget by at least 25%. I believe it doesn't have to be that way, and I know I can assist in saving money by being savvy and still producing the wedding that you have dreamed of.

After going through the wedding planning process myself — and now supporting so many others — I’ve realised a few things that continue to shape the way I work:

  • There’s no “right” way to plan a wedding. There’s only what’s right for you

  • You don’t need to do it all. Cut out what doesn’t serve you - no one will notice the things that stress you out

  • Prioritise what matters to you, not what tradition or social media (or parents) says should matter

  • The little things (like a well-timed coffee or calming a nervous parent) can make the biggest difference

  • Weddings aren’t just about aesthetics - they’re emotional, personal, and sometimes overwhelming. Having someone in your corner can change everything

I have lived and learnt the process and understand the level of stress that an event brings. I am here to listen, help and let you have the seamless event that you deserve, because after all, isn't every event a celebration?

What have I LEARNT?
